Configure Xero as your accounting system

SpeEDI Accord has integration with Xero from the Billing page. This allows you to create draft and approved invoices for clients, attach declaration certificates and other documents, create new client codes, create bill invoices for creditors, etc in Xero. Follow these steps to set up this integration:

  1. At the top navigation panel click on Settings menu
  2. Select the EDI/API option under Service Providers section. The following screen will be displayed
  3. From the dropdown menu on the bottom left select the option Xero (Online Accounts)as below.

  4. Click on Add button and the list will show Xero as a Service Provider
Make sure it is enabled to be able to use it
  5. You may be prompted to login to Xero.
  6. A list of all current non-tracked product (inventory) codes from Xero is displayed. Check that the charge/purchase codes you wish to use for billing are showing. Note - there is no need to refresh this list because they are retrieved from Xero for each Billing Request.
  7. If any codes you need for billing are not showing then you should access Xero directly and add them as non-tracked product codes.
  8. If you wish to confirm that new codes added in Xero are recognised by Accord, then disable/re-enable the connection by returning to Settings - EDI/API as in step 1, click the Enabled box off and then on to re-enable the connection. The updated list of product codes will appear.

You can now Send a Billing Request to Xero and View Billing Summary reports.

HINT: always confirm that you have a connection to Xero (as shown in top right of the Billing Request page) before submitting a Billing Request intended for Xero.

The connection to Xero may be disabled/enabled by simply clicking on the Enabled box in Step 2 above. IMPORTANT: if you disable the connection then any Billing Requests submitted will be stored within Accord as documentary invoices only and there will be no transactions passed to Xero.
