Add Tariffs


As described in View Tariff Summary you can add new tariffs to your list


  1. At the top navigation panel click on Settings menu, select the Tariff Summary option under Classifications section. 
  2.  And your list of tariff codes will be displayed. Click on the Add button to add a new tariff. 
  3. Required fields are indicated with an asterisk in the label.

    Fields are:
    Tariff (required)
    An HS Code or full tariff code must be entered.

    Description (required)
    The description of the goods. This will be applied when the tariff is selected for a consignment product (provided a description from the commercial invoice was not already entered)

    Statistical Unit
    The statistical unit where there is a stats requirement for the tariff. e.g. kgm for weight in kilograms.
    Keyword
    An optional keyword that can be used when searching for tariffs.
     

    Secondary Code
    Can optionally be entered to link a tariff to a generic code or a classified product setup against an importer/exporter TSW client. This facility is primarily used to apply qualifiers to declaration lines when additional details are required such as exemption codes or permit numbers. Click the button to the right of the field. This will provide access to add or edit a generic code or lookup an existing generic code. 
    Country (required)
    The country in which the tariff applies. This will be set to your country by default, so normally does not need to be changed. 
  4. Enter the details as shown above and select the Country.  

  5. Click on Save to save the changes



Auto Add Tariff in Bulk


Additionally, you can add multiple tariffs in bulk by uploading a file following a specific tab separated format explained in the window itself.


  1. Click on the Auto-Add button.
  2. Click on the Browse button and select the file to upload from your disk. Make sure the file follows the tab separated format as explained in the help article (click on the link to view the details). You have the option to replace the existing tariffs.
  3. Click on Start Upload button

  4. Close the window and the tariffs will be displayed in the Tariff Summary
